Ruckus Privacy Policy

Your privacy and security are important to us at Ruckus. Because we gather certain types of information about Ruckus users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it (the Ruckus “Privacy Policy”) and how it works in conjunction with the Ruckus Terms of Service (“TOS”). All definitions of terms not defined in this Privacy Policy can be found in our TOS which you entered into upon registering to use the Ruckus Service. We can and may make minor amendments to this Privacy Policy, in our sole discretion, at any time. Any such amendments will be reflected by the posting of an updated version of this policy on our home page at www.RuckusNetwork.com. Your initial and continued access to or use of any Ruckus product or service constitutes your assent to, and acceptance of, this policy, including any and all posted changes Ruckus may make from time to time.

1. CAPTURE AND USE OF INFORMATION

Registration.
In order to use the Ruckus Service and participate in our various interactive activities you will be asked to register with your school’s user ID and your related password. If you opt in and agree to provide us with contact information, we may use that information to contact you when necessary for customer service or other reasons which you explicitly permit.

Cookies.
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Generally, cookies work by assigning to your computer a unique number that has no meaning outside of our site. We use them to provide features such as personalization, to save your member ID, store your preferences, record session information data and services in order to provide better service when you return to use the Ruckus products or services. For example, we may use cookies to assist us in delivering content specific to your interests. Additionally, after you've entered your member ID during a session on our service, we save that information so you don't have to re-enter it repeatedly during that session. For security reasons, however, we do not save your password, so you must re-enter it every time you wish to log onto the Ruckus Service. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that. Please note that not accepting cookies will likely result the Ruckus Service, in whole or in large part, to be unavailable to you.

IP Address.
We may use your IP address to identify you, to administer our Website and the Ruckus products and services, to personalize and localize your online experience, and to assist us in diagnosing problems with our server and network, in general.

No Minors Allowed.
The Ruckus Service and Ruckus Website are not directed to minors and minors are not eligible to use the Service. Protecting the privacy of minors and children is very important to us. We do not collect or maintain personal information from people we actually know to be under the age eighteen, and no part of our Website or Service is designed to attract people under the age of eighteen. If we later learn that a user is under eighteen, we will take steps to remove that user's personal information from our databases and to prevent the user from utilizing the Website and the Service.

2. ADDITIONAL USES OF INFORMATION
Ruckus uses non-personal data in a variety of ways, including, by way of example, to evaluate and improve the performance of the Ruckus products and services, cater to the general preferences of authorized users, or to generate anonymous statistics. Ruckus may share and release information on an aggregated basis only (meaning that the information from many users is grouped together in a way that does not disclose the personal information of any particular user). For example, information will be collected as needed in order to provide the service, to report aggregate use information to certain third party Content Owners, to process transactions conducted through the service (such as payment of applicable fees), and to communicate with users under certain circumstances. Because non-personal data is entirely anonymous and, therefore, can never be used by us to identify you, this Privacy Policy does not limit Ruckus’ ability to use or disclose non-personal data.

Ruckus also may use information collected through the Ruckus Service or the Ruckus Website to communicate with the authorized users from whom such information was collected in order to provide promotional materials about Ruckus and/or about our business partners and affiliates. However, unlike communications which are necessary to provide the service to authorized users (“Necessary Communications”), promotional communications are optional (“Optional Communications”), and Ruckus will refrain from sending that kind of information to you if you inform us that you prefer not to receive them, as described in more detail below, except for those narrow circumstances set forth herein and in our TOS.

Under certain limited circumstances, we may be subject to legal requirements to disclose information collected through the Ruckus Website or the service, such as, by way of example, to a court or a governmental agency, and our policy is to comply fully with all such legal requirements. The disclosures contemplated by this paragraph (“Necessary Disclosures”) are necessary if you wish to use the Ruckus Service. As mentioned above, Ruckus may use and disclose non-personal data without restriction. If you do not want us to make such Necessary Disclosures, or to use non-personal data without restriction, you must not use the Ruckus Service.

3. GENERAL PRIVACY INFORMATION
Ruckus may make various community communication features and public forums available to its users “(Public Forums”). When you disclose personal information in such Public Forums, that information can be collected and used by others in various ways, including by sending unsolicited messages. You are solely responsible for any postings you make on public forums using the Ruckus service, and for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you're online. Further, the Ruckus Product, including the Ruckus Website, may contain links to partners, advertisers and third party Internet sites and services that may collect data in connection with registrations, promotions, e-commerce, etc.  Ruckus may also now and in the future be linked to by, and in some cases framed by, certain partner websites. Each of the websites (linked from Ruckus, or linking to Ruckus) have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of Ruckus, and Ruckus has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
Ruckus is not responsible for the manner in which third parties use or further disclose personal information collected from you through the Ruckus Website or Ruckus Service, after Ruckus has disclosed that information to those third parties. We do, however, require our third-party partners to promise not to use such information except as necessary to provide their respective services to us. If you do not want Ruckus to use or disclose personal information collected about you in the ways identified in this policy as Necessary Communications or Necessary Disclosures, you must not use the Ruckus Service.

As stated above, the Ruckus Products may contain links to other web sites. Please be aware that Ruckus is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other websites. Ruckus encourages our users to be aware when they leave the Ruckus Websites and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Ruckus through the Ruckus Website or Service.

4. Security.
Ruckus has established and maintains reasonable security procedures to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your personally identifiable information. We use a variety of industry-standard security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Personal information collected by Ruckus is stored in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public. "Perfect security," however, does not exist on the Internet or through your school. So, although your privacy is very important to us, due to the existing legal regulatory and security environment, we cannot fully ensure that your private communications and other personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to third parties. For example, Ruckus will disclose personal information about an individual user if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with an applicable law or valid legal process.

5. Protecting Yourself.
You can help to protect your information by safeguarding your Ruckus password, using caution and discretion when posting information on public areas of the Ruckus Web site, and by learning more about internet privacy from Web sites such as TRUSTe (www.truste.com).

6. Contacting Ruckus and Reporting Violations.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or feel that Ruckus is not abiding by its most current posted policy terms or wish to report the violation of this policy by another person, please contact us at Privacy@Ruckus.com and let us know.
