Golden Gophers Join Ruckus
University of Minnesota , Twin Cities plugs-in to digital entertainment service

Herndon , VA – July 26 – Ruckus today announced the addition of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to their digital entertainment network. The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities boasts the second-largest student body in the country, with a student enrollment of approximately 51,000. Twin Cities is the largest campus yet to offer Ruckus’ services to its students.

By signing with Ruckus, Twin Cities has given all of its students the opportunity to download over 1,200,000 songs through Ruckus’ digital media offering, and interact and find friends through media and media through friends. The service is available for the entire semester for less than the price of a CD to both on and off campus students, and can be purchased with a credit card for their convenience. Unlimited access to major studio movies and hit television shows for the entire semester is available for less than the price of a DVD.

“ Ruckus offers our students more than just the digital music and movies that provide a valuable and legal alternative to illegal file sharing," said Steve Cawley, University of Minnesota associate vice president and CIO. "Ruckus also gives the students an online forum to interact and meet other students and share and upload their own creative work. We are pleased to be able to offer Ruckus to our students."

Ruckus has added five new schools over the last eight weeks, and plans to announce several more new schools before the start of the fall semester. By providing LEGAL digital media, community features, and educational content, Ruckus believes that it has cemented itself as the premier college-only digital entertainment network available to campuses, and has successfully demonstrated its dedication to enhancing student life and the educational process on college campuses.
